John Herrmann

John Herrmann- December 11, 2021. 

John graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1979 and joined the Montclair Fire Department in 1981 where he currently serves as the Fire Chief and Deputy Emergency Management Coordinator. 

He has received commendations from the New Jersey State FMBA, Saint Barnabas Burn Foundation, 200 Club of Essex County and the Essex County Emerald Society. He was also named Fireman of the Year by the Essex County Emerald Society in 2008 and received the Giblin Association Public Safety Community Service Award in 2018.

John is also an original member of the Essex County Emerald Society Police and Fire Pipe Band and plays the snare drum in the band. He is also an active volunteer for several Montclair organizations.

John is the son of John and Genevieve Herrmann and his grandmother hails from County Cork, Ireland. He is married to Patricia (Giblin) and has three children and three grandchildren.
